Preschool Registration 2024.2025

Registration will open Monday, February 12, 2024:

We are now beginning with online registration. Please use the link: Online Pre-Registration

Students must turn 4 years old by December 1, 2024 to enter Preschool and must be 4 years old to ride the school bus.

The program is open to all children who reside within the district’s boundaries and, for the 2024-25 school year, are four years old on or before Dec. 1, 2024. Students who are school-age (turn 5 before Dec. 1, 2024) are not eligible for UPK, but may register for Kindergarten at Rockwell. Registration for the 2024-2025 school year opens on February 12, 2024. Pre-registration is open now on our OCS website through the registration page. The 2024-25 UPK registration period will close on May 1, 2024.

OCS currently offers 38 PreK seats. If there are more eligible applicants than can be served in a given school year who have registered before May 1, 2024, the district will conduct a lottery-based system to determine who may enroll in the program. Only students who have completed all paperwork to finalize the registration process will be admitted into the lottery.

The lottery will select attendees on a random basis through a randomly generated spreadsheet. The selection of one twin, triplet or other multiple will receive preference for a seat if one of the multiple siblings are selected. Different aged household member’s attendance at Rockwell has no effect on the selection of any other siblings during the lottery selection process.

If a lottery system is utilized, children not randomly selected will be placed on a waiting list. If any vacancies occur during the school year, they will be filled from the waiting list until it has been exhausted. If students register after the May 1st deadline, and there are seats available, they will be permitted to register late for UPK and placed in a class at the time that all required paperwork is submitted. If students register after the May 1st deadline and there are no seats available, they will be placed on the wait list in order of complete application paperwork received.

Enrollment in the UPK program is not mandatory. However, enrolled students must adhere to the school district’s attendance policy. The program operates five-days-a-week and follows the district calendar, with 180 days of school (September through June) each year. Hours for the PreK program are the same for school aged Rockwell students: 8:30am - 2:50pm. Students will be provided with district transportation when they are four years old. If students are enrolled in PreK prior to turning four, they must be self transported to and from the program.

Rockwell Elementary hosts a before and after school care program through the Healthy Kids organization. PreK students are eligible to enroll.

Once you have completed the online pre-registration you will be contacted by the registrar to finalize any necessary paperwork. Parents or Guardians must bring the following to registration appointment:

  • Proof of Identification (parent or guardian)

  • Birth certificate (original)

  • Shot Record/Physical

  • 2 Proofs of residency (1) primary (1) secondary

Examples:  An updated driver's license, tax bill, utility bill, lease agreement, bank statement, etc.

  • If applicable, copy of custody papers

Thank you Katelynn Killmore Rockwell ES Principal.
